Independent by design

Experience where it matters. Curiosity where it counts.

The Media Council is an independent digital studio founded and led by web developer David Fischetti. Since 2006, the studio has helped organizations turn complex ideas, content, and workflows into clear, useful websites and digital systems.

The studio

Small by design. Close to the work.

Every project is led by Dave, who stays involved from the first questions through strategy, content, design, development, launch, and ongoing support.

When a project benefits from additional expertise, The Media Council brings in trusted collaborators while keeping the working relationship direct and accountable. There is no handoff chain between the people thinking through the work and the people building it.

Meet Dave

The person behind The Media Council.

Dave Fischetti is a web developer and technology entrepreneur with more than twenty years of experience translating business and organizational needs into dependable digital tools.

His work spans content-rich websites, custom publishing systems, e-commerce, client portals, and workflow software. He is especially drawn to projects where technology needs to make something complicated feel straightforward—for visitors, for editors, and for the teams responsible for what happens after launch.

Earlier work

Earlier in his career, Dave was a founding partner and sole developer of Broadtexter, an early mobile fan-club platform for musicians and a finalist in the 2007 SXSW Web Awards.

Our approach

Most website problems begin with complexity: too much content, too many audiences, an old system, or a story that has become difficult to tell.

We sort through that complexity, identify what matters, and build a system around the people who will use it. Strategy, content, design, and development stay connected so the result works as a whole—not as a collection of separate deliverables.

What we believe
01

Content is part of the design.

Message, structure, and visual expression should develop together.

03

Longevity beats novelty.

Clear systems and sound technology outlast trends.

02

Editors are users, too.

The site should work for the people maintaining it.

04

Use new tools with real accountability.

AI can accelerate the work. Judgment, quality, and responsibility remain ours.
