What we collect, and why.
This page covers the information The Media Council gathers through this website: project forms, analytics, and the tools that keep submissions from being spam.
Who we are
The Media Council is an independent digital studio. This policy applies to themediacouncil.com and the pages on this site.
Information you send us
When you use a contact or project form, we collect the details you enter:
- Name
- Organization
- Website
- Project goals
- Timing
- Budget range
Gravity Forms also stores technical details with the entry, such as IP address, the page you submitted from, and the time of submission. A hidden honeypot field helps block automated spam; it is not meant for people to fill in.
We use this information to reply, discuss potential work, and keep a record of the inquiry. You do not have to submit a form. If you skip details we need in order to respond, we may not be able to follow up.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used: pages viewed, referrers, device type, and approximate location. Google may set cookies such as _ga and _ga_ followed by our measurement ID. We use this to improve the site, not to sell your information or run ads.
You can block analytics cookies in your browser, or install Google's opt-out add-on. Google's own practices are described in the Google Privacy Policy.
Spam protection
Forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to confirm a submission is from a person. Cloudflare receives technical information such as IP address and browser data only for that check. Turnstile is not used for advertising or analytics. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
Cookies
This website uses a small number of cookies and similar technologies:
- Essential – WordPress, Gravity Forms, or Turnstile may set cookies or short-lived storage so the site and forms can work, including spam protection. These are not used for advertising.
- Analytics – Google Analytics 4 cookies, as described above.
We do not use advertising pixels or social-media tracking on this site. Most browsers accept cookies by default. You can refuse or delete them in your browser settings; blocking essential cookies may affect forms.
How we share information
We do not sell personal information.
We share information with the services that run the site: hosting, WordPress, Gravity Forms, email delivery, Google Analytics, and Cloudflare Turnstile. They process that information to provide those services.
If you book a call through a calendar widget (for example Google Calendar), that provider receives whatever you enter there, under its own policy.
We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect the studio or others.
How long we keep it
Form submissions are kept as long as needed to respond and maintain a reasonable business record, then deleted or archived. Analytics data follows the retention period set in our Google Analytics account.
Your choices
You can ask us to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold from a form submission. We may need to confirm it is you before we act. Depending on where you live, additional rights may apply.
Children
This site is meant for adults and professional audiences. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes
We may update this page. The effective date at the top will change when we do.
